Physical and Health Education

The YCYW Physical and Health Education Curriculum is designed to systematically develop core skills and knowledge across three areas: Participation and Skills, Healthy Active Lifestyle, and Interpersonal Skills.

Physical Education and Health are essential components of a well-rounded education, promoting the physical, mental, and social well-being of students. By integrating physical activity and health education into the YCYW curriculum, we play a crucial role in fostering a generation of healthy and active individuals.

In physical education, students develop fundamental movement skills, improve their fitness levels, and engage in various forms of physical activity. Through team sports, individual games, and fitness exercises, students learn the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline. Physical education also provides opportunities for students to explore their interests, discover their talents, and develop a lifelong passion for physical activity.

In addition to physical education, health education equips students with essential knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their well-being for a healthy active lifestyle. It covers a wide range of topics, including nutrition, personal hygiene, and mental health. By providing accurate and age-appropriate information, health education empowers students to take responsibility for their health and make choices that positively impact their lives.

YCYW schools also provide extra-curricular physical education and sport programs, offering students the opportunity to further explore their physical abilities and interests outside of regular school hours. These programs provide a range of activities, such as team sports, individual sports, and outdoor adventures, allowing students to develop new skills, foster teamwork, and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Students are also given opportunities to participate in local, national, and international competitions.

By promoting physical activity, teaching essential skills, and providing health knowledge, YCYW contributes to the overall development and lifelong well-being of our students. A comprehensive approach to physical education and health education ensures that students are equipped with the tools they need to lead healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.
