School-Based Subjects

School-based subjects are dynamic educational programs crafted by individual schools to address the unique needs and aspirations of the students. These subjects are thoughtfully integrated into the school’s timetable, ensuring that students engage with them regularly.

One of the examples is Philosophy for Children (P4C), offered by CQYC. P4C epitomizes the spirit of adaptability and innovation inherent in school-based subjects. It encourages students to explore profound questions, engage in critical thinking, and develop a philosophical mindset.

Another example is the Korean Language curriculum which allows students to continue developing expertise in their mother tongue, further enhancing their progress in other languages such as Chinese and English.

These subjects operate in an open, flexible, and adaptive manner, allowing schools to tailor their curriculum and create a distinct educational identity. Moreover, they harness local community resources—both within the school and the broader region—to enrich the learning experience.

In essence, school-based subjects empower schools to shape their educational landscape, fostering creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging.
